NEAT Power

NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. It accounts for all the calories you burn through daily activity outside of formal workouts.

"10,000 steps is a great baseline, but 12,000+ is the secret to aggressive fat oxidation."

What is a daily step calculator?

A daily step calculator is an activity optimization tool that identifies the precise number of steps you need to take each day to meet your physical goals. Movement is the primary driver of your metabolism, and this tool helps you stay accountable to your metabolic health.

How the calculator works

The calculator uses your current body weight and specific fitness objective (Longevity, Maintenance, Fat Loss, or Aggressive Weight Loss) to recommend a target. These targets are aligned with World Health Organization (WHO) physical activity guidelines for adult health and metabolic efficiency.

Interpretation of step goals

Aiming for 7,000 to 8,000 steps is excellent for general cardiovascular health and metabolic maintenance. However, if your goal is fat loss, increasing your target to 10,000 or 12,000 steps creates a significant daily caloric burn that doesn't trigger the same hunger signals as high-intensity cardio.
